Walk in Penn’s Woods is for people across Pennsylvania to visit and learn about the forests that enhance our well-being. Forests are always working for us, providing recreation, wildlife habitat, beauty, improved water quality, clean air, wood products, carbon storage, and more.

Walk in Penn’s Woods, a statewide coordinated event on the first Sunday in October, encourages people across Pennsylvania to learn how their local woods work, see forests in new ways, and appreciate and love the forests so that we can all care well for them.

Guided by McKaig’s Park Ranger and Forest Steward, on a moderate ~2¼ mile walk along the trails. Meet at the Croton Rd trailhead.

Must register, please visit:  www.EnjoyMcKaig.org

The walk will last approximately 1½ to 2 hours and will be open to all ages, paces, and levels of experience. Dogs are welcome too as long as they remain leashed the entire time they're in the park.

The hike will start promptly at 10:05 and will begin and end at the Croton Road entrance. Be sure to arrive early! There is plenty of parking in the Robert's Elementary School parking lot.

Please bring your own water bottle (reusable is best!) and comfortable, sturdy shoes or boots. Depending on the season, you may want to bring extra layers, sunscreen, and/or bug spray. If you're bringing a pup, please bring bags to clean up after them.

Looking forward to meeting you at the Croton Road trailhead by Roberts Elementary School.
