UM A/P Biology Students
We plan to have students perform several projects during their visit. They may include to complete a new trail, transplanting a few small trees, pulling invasive plants and maybe even splashing around in the creek.
First thing as we always do, we'll meet and spend a few minutes in the Old Roberts Schoolhouse to go over ground rules, etc. then head out into the woods.
Please bring personal protection, (gloves, eye, McKaig has some but might not enough for everyone). Long pants recommended,
closed toe shoes a must and since we're going to be off trail, I'd strongly recommend bug spray for ticks. We will be doing some work in/near streams and feet may get wet, so bring a second pair of shoes. It's expected to get up into the mid 70s please bring water, we probably won't be in direct sun, but some might want to apply sun screen.
We host events in rain or shine but not significant wind, we make that determination 24 hours prior to arrival.
Have students bring a bagged lunch, we'll leave the lunches in the old schoolhouse to keep them cool.
After lunch we'll continue where we were and finishing up with a fair-well selfie at 1:30-2.
Parking if students plan to drive:
Please have students park on Croton road, NOT in Roberts Elementary School parking lot.
