Eagle Scout Candidate Brendan Miller directs construction
This year we are very pleased that a number of outstanding Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are working  on their Eagle Scout and Silver Award projects at McKaig.

Some of these projects involve construction activity along the trails, so please keep your eyes out – or stop and lend a hand – as you hike.

Projects this year include:
Jon Assoian:  stream bank restoration along Wayne Woods Creek
Nick Cruickshank:  stream bank restoration north of Boltuch Bridge (west side)
Brendan Miller: stream bank restoration north of Boltuch Bridge (east side)
Alex Wetzel:  trail signs at all trail intersections
Sophie Hajdak, Maggie Noonan and Priyal Gupta: teaching lessons at Adventure Day Camp, preparing teacher kits and creating interpretive signage.
In the picture above, Eagle Scout candidate Brendan Miller (upper left) gives two thumbs-up to scouts  and volunteers from Paoli Troop 1 as they adjust the alignment of a waterwall.  This wall will protect a section of trail along the streambank.  Much of the trail was washed out leaving roots and rock.  The scouts and parents have re-leveled the trail.
