Repairs on Laurel Trail

posted Oct 3, 2014, 9:53 AM by Park Ranger
On Saturday September 27th more than a dozen Boy Scouts from Troop 1 Paoli led by Eagle Scout Candidate Mike R. worked on trail restoration and maintenance on the Laurel Trail (map reference blue 60-62).  They installed, repaired or replaced more than a half dozen water bars that are used to control erosion on the trail.

Additionally they gathered and applied gravel raising trail height just north of the Grossman Bridge on the Cadet Trail near White 22 since this is an area that gets soggy during the spring and after heavy rains.

Thank you Mike and crew (and to the parents) for all that you have done to make McKaig Nature Center an enjoyable place to visit.
