Eagle Scout candidate Redmond W. of troop Paoli 1, wanted to provide the visitors of McKaig Nature Center a structure that would offer a covered place to sit, an area for the recyclable containers and a place for information.

This past fall, Redmond contacted Director Jim Weiland, Boy Scout Coordinator for McKaig Nature Center, with very detailed plans for the structure.  Over the winter Redmond received approvals from the Scout Council and MNC's Board to proceed.

Using the McKaig Project Matching Funds program, Redmond raised over $1000 for the materials, coordinated the 24+ volunteers of Paoli 1 scout troop and managed the construction.  A total of 262 man hours were spent on completing the projects.

The entire Board of Directors along with all the visitors that hikes McKaig gratefully appreciates the effort Redmond and his crew put forth.
