You may know McKaig Nature Center receives no direct tax funds, relying on memberships, donations and grants from people like you to help preserve environmental goals, educational initiatives and public enjoyment.

Now is the time to act, a Friend and Neighbor of McKaig has pledged to match your donation, dollar for dollar for memberships received by December 25th.

Your backing will help maintain the beauty of the McKaig Park, supported preserving and educating about our environment, and has kept the Historic Old Roberts Schoolhouse in its entire splendor.  We all appreciate your kindness.

A neighbor has pledged to match your contribution, dollar for dollar, provided it is received by December 25th.

Please visit the membership page or print the form to mail your tax deductible contribution.

It is because people like you who have contributed and the many volunteers who have combined to complete many terrific projects this past year:

  • Scouts have expanded and renovated trails;
  • Students have visited to learn about our environment;
  • Interns and neighbors have helped to control invasive plants,
  • Volunteers from local corporations have helped our environment;
  • Expanded the Old Wood Road trailhead parking area.

Planned future projects that your support will help us to achieve include:
  • High School biology student water quality testing program
  • Storm water management techniques for homeowners education project
  • Cadet trailhead renovation by Croton Road
  • Elementary School Student hands-on environmental education programs
  • Protect the Boltuch Bridge supports by relocating stormwater sediment gravel
We cannot achieve these goals without your help.  Visit to be a supporter of our suburban woodland treasure.

Caring people like you allow us to continue preserving our environment and make exploring McKaig Nature Center enjoyable.  We look forward to working together with you this upcoming year.

Please contact Park Ranger Vytas Masalaitis with any suggestions or comments; we would enjoy hearing from you.

On behalf of the volunteer Board of Directors,

Robert Puglisi, President UMPHF

P.S. Please consider membership by December 25th so your funds could be matched dollar for dollar.
