Saturday Sept. 14
It was a beautiful morning and 35 volunteers, including Girl and Boy Scouts, arrived dressed and ready to get dirty to support McKaig.  The 2½ hours flew by but several maintenance and repair projects were completed!
The largest project, the Cadet trailhead on Brower Rd., required spreading of 50 tons of boulders, stone and gravel to repair current and prevent future erosion damage.  To slow rain water, rocks were placed into a culvert and a diverting wall was constructed to redirect the flow of water.

The next sizable project was leveling the middle bridge that was uplifted from its foundation by a waterfall of water during the massive June storms.

Several other maintenance projects, such as cleaning Monkey Rock Bride and trimming foliage on Brower Road, were accomplished as well.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who turned out and worked hard to make walking at McKaig enjoyable for all!
